Types of psychedelics Psychedelics come in a number of different forms. It usually comes as a white crystalline powder when produced synthetically. Some drugs can have hallucinogenic-like effects in higher doses, such as cannabis or MDMA (ecstasy). Since a person’s sense of distance, time and objective reality are warped when under the influence of psychedelics, serious injury and accidental death are risks.
